This new addition to the Minox spotting 'scope range measures only 235mm long and weighs just 615g making it an excellent product for those who require a small quality spotting scope that is also ideal for travelling.

The new Minox MD 50 features a 50mm objective lens and comes complete with a 16-30x zoom eyepiece with twist-up eyecup to allow spectacle wearers a full field of view, barrel focussing on the body, rotatable tripod mount for ease of use when in a hide, and a protective carrying case.

The telescope has a fully waterproofed body down to a depth of 5m and is gas purged to prevent internal fogging during temperature fluctuations.

The MD 50 features the M* lens multi coating first used on the Minox HG High Grade binoculars for high light transmission and excellent contrast with natural colour rendition and will focus down to 5m.
Its overall dimensions of just 213 x 63 x 123mm make it the ideal 'travel scope' where size and weight can be an important factor and to this end it can be easily mounted and used on a shoulder pod such as the Cullmann 0080 which would almost negate the need for a tripod on your travels, thus saving even more space and weight in your suitcase.

This unique compact miniature telescope, measuring just 92 x 57 x 44 mm that fits neatly into the palm of the hand, gives the user not only high optical performance but an extremely close-focus distance of only 35 cm. In combination with the 8x magnification, the MINOX MS 8x25 Macroscope™ allows a close-up detailed study of all kinds of subjects and objects, ensuring that the user can even observe wildlife and insects in great detail at close range without disturbing them. Viewing a historical tower on a sight-seeing trip or big events in a stadium or concert hall, the new compact Macroscope™ is ideal. It also has the added advantage of being handy and easy to use for partially sighted people.

MINOX have made this technically possible due to the extremely short and compact build of the MS 8x25 and the clever use of Porro prisms which by their very nature provide naturally high light transmission. The lens diameter of 25 mm combined with its innovative optical system and high quality multi layer coating of the optics, ensures bright images with high contrast and accurate colour rendition under all conditions. Designing the Macroscope™, MINOX engineers combined past know how and the latest technology as used in the new MINOX 'High Grade' range of binoculars. For example, the Quick Close Focus (QCF), a new type of focussing mechanism which allows better and more accurate focussing. With just a single turn of less than 360° of the focussing ring on the lens it is possible to adjust the mini telescope to any setting from close-up to infinite.

Despite its lightweight, around 150 grams, the Macroscope™ features tough rubber armouring to protect against everyday wear and tear and along with a special sealing technique is internally purged with special Argon gas to not only minimise internal corrosion and prevent internal fogging during quick temperature or humidity changes, it also ensures that it remains waterproof in bad weather conditions and even in water down to 5 metres. For those who wear spectacles, the full field of view is visible due to the extended exit pupil. The twist-up/twist down eyecup is an important feature for both spectacle and non-spectacle wearing users.
